John Chapter 11

The Absolute Meaning of the Word of God

"The Bible is a book that has been read more and examined less than any book that ever existed." Thomas Paine (A forefather to America)

The sacred instructions, teachings, sayings and moral precepts of the word of God collected together in the Holy Bible, are NOT given to us through the Holy Life giving Spirit of God, by his chosen prophets and interpreters, for the word of God to be DIFFICULT to understand.

These written words of God were not given to mankind for their purpose to be shrouded and covered in darkness and for their meaning NOT to be understood, clear or plain.

In fact, they were given to mankind so that the LIGHT of TRUTH would clearly and plainly manifest to the world their TRUE and ONLY meaning through Lord Jesus Christ, who was and is the LIGHT of TRUTH to the world, together with the spiritual purity that is associated with the TRUTH.

Lord Jesus Christ gave to the world the power and knowledge of understanding the word of God, but yet this present world does NOT understand the word of God.

The reason for this is quite easy to understand, however, it is the pride of mankind that makes it difficult for them to accept this clear knowledge and this BASIC TRUTH of understanding:

That this present world is covered with the darkness of the NIGHT SEASON, and this darkness is what blinds the world from understanding the meaning of the written words that was given to us by the ONE TRUE GOD.

Because of this reason, it is necessary to throughly research and investigate into the meaning of the written words in the Holy Bible out of the TIME that they were WRITTEN in and the culture they were written by.

The further in time from the exact languages used in the Scripture that mankind enters into, the further away from understanding those languages do they appear.

Especially when all of mankinds languages derive from a culture of people and are full of THEIR idioms, metaphors and figuartive phrases that are NOT used by other cultures and languages in different times of history.

And because of this reason, the MEANING of the words of God that are used in a cultures written language, their idioms, metaphors and figuartive phrases are covered up by what is new and current in the world and therefore they burry the old to be lost in time.

In order for the world to find that which has been both lost and buried in time, we must dig very deep into history in order to uncover the meaning of these written words in their culture, their language and their time in history and NOT our own!

Therefore, we must dig deep into the literal meaning of their written words from their time in history for us to achieve a complete understanding of the MEANING of the words of God that THEY wrote down for us.

"Reading the Bible in translation is like kissing your new bride through a veil." Haim Nachman Bialik (A Jewish Poet)

This following verse is from Revelation 22:13, two thousand years later from the time, culture and language it was given to and then written in.

It has been translated into the English language from our present time and culture.

As a result, the words are COMPLETELY ABSENT of the MEANING of the 1st century Greek words that are written by the Apostle John:

"I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

Now let us examine the complete MEANING of the original written words in this same Scripture that has been carried over from the 1st century GREEK culture and language and has been written out in ENGLISH.

This is a completely different process than using the foolishness of mankinds wisdom, where they attempt to select and choose ONE word from their present languages and cultures and therefore choose to abandon the meaning of the WRITTEN WORDS:

(ego) I (eimi) am (a) the first letter of the Greek alphabet (kai) and (omega) the last letter of the Greek alphabet, (arche) the beginning and origin of that which commences (kai) and (telos) the termination of that when it is finished, (protos) the first in time and place of the earth (kai) and (eschatos) the last in time and in a series of places of the earth.

With the MEANING of these 1st century Greek words now SEEN, we can all clearly and plainly understand that Lord Jesus is the GREEK alphabet it its completeness.

And to understand HIS words we must use that which HE IS, and that is the GREEK language.

This scripture also clearly and plainly tells us all, that Lord Jesus is the origin of what followed after his existance in time as a result of what happened in this Greek language and culture.

We also learn here, that Lord Jesus is the TERMINITATON of that which followed his existance in time as a result.

Therefore it is CLEAR to SEE that Lord Jesus Christ, the GREEK language, is what originiated the religions of the world that are based on him and that came after him.

And that Lord Jesus Christ, the GREEK language, is what TERMINATES those religions of the world that have been based on him and that came after him.

The Gospel According to John

1) (de) And (tis) there was a certain man (en) who was (astheneo) physically weak and without strength, powerless and sick, named Lazarus (meaning “whom God helps”) (apo) from Bethany, (meaning “house of misery”)

(ek) Lazarus was from (kome) the town of Mary (kai) and (autos) her (adelphe) sister Martha, the sisters of Lazarus.

  • Bethany was a village at the Mount of Olives, about two miles (3 km) from Jerusalem, on or near the normal road to Jericho, a town or village on the east bank of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

2) (de) And (en) she was that same Mary (ho) that (aleipho) anointed (kurios) the Lord (muron) with ointment, (kai) and (ekmasso) wiped off (autos) his (pous) feet (autos) with her (thrix) hair, (hos) whose (adelphos) brother Lazarus (astheneo) was sick.

3) (oun) With this being so, (adelphe) his sisters (apostello) sent (pros) for (autos) Jesus (lego) saying:

(kurios) Lord (ide) behold and see with your eyes (hos) who (phileo) you love, approve of, treat affectionately, kindly and have befriended (astheneo) is sick.

4) (de) And Jesus (akouo) considered what was said (epo) and then he said:

(houtos) This (astheneia) physical weakness and sickness, (esti) is (ou) not (pros) with (thanatos) death;

(alla) But (huper) for the sake of (doxa) the praise, honor and glory (theos) of God, (hina) so that (huios) the Son (theos) of God (doxazo) will be glorified (dia) through (autos) him.

5) (de) And Jesus (agapao) was fond of, well pleased with and dearly loved Martha (kai) and (autos) her (adelphe) sister, (kai) and Lazarus.

6) (oun) Therefore, (hos) as (akouo) he heard (hoti) that (astheneo) he was sick, (men) indeed, (tote) then at that time, (meno) he remained (duo) two (hemera) more days (en) in (topos) that town (hos) where (en) he was.

7) (epeita) Afterwards, (meta) with (touto) this thing (lego) he said (mathetes) to his disciples:

(ago) Let us go (eis) into Judaea (palin) again.

8) (mathetes) Then his disciples (lego) said (autos) to him:

(rhabbi) TEACHER, (nun) the Jews at this present time (zeteo) seek after and demand (lithazo) to pelt you with stones in order to kill (se) you;

(kai) And (hupago) you withdraw yourself to go (ekei) there in that place (palin) again?

9) So Jesus (apokrinomai) answered them:

(eisi) Are there (ouchi) not (dodeka) twelve (hora) hours (hemera) in the day?

(ean) If (tis) any one (peripateo) makes his way to regulate his life and conducts himself (en) in (hemera) day, (ou) he does not (proskopto) strike his foot against a stone to stumble and be induced to sin,

(hoti) Because (blepo) he looks at (phos) the Light of truth and its knowledge, together with the spiritual purity associated with it and has the power of understanding moral and spiritual truth (toutou) of this one (kosmos) world.

10)  (de) And (ean) if (tis) any one (peripateo) makes his way to regulate his life and conducts himself (en) in (nux) the night, the time when work ceases, the time of death,  the time for the deeds of sin and shame, the time of moral stupidity and darkness and the time when the weary and also the drunken give themselves up to slumber,

(proskopto) He does strike his foot against a stone, stumbles and is induced to sin,

(hoti) Because (esti) there is (ou) no (phos) Light of the truth (en) in (autos) him.

11) (tauta) This thing (autos) he (apo) said:

(kai) And (meta) after (touto) that saying (lego) he taught and said (autos) to them:

(hemon) Our (philos) friend, associate and companion Lazarus (koimao) sleeps;

(alla) But (poreuomai) I continue on my journey (hina) in order to (exupnizo) (autos) wake him up (exupnizo) out of his sleep.

12) (oun) Therefore, (autos) his (mathetes) disciples (epo) said:

(kurios) Lord, (ei) if (koimao) he is asleep, (sozo) then he is safe and sound.

13) (de) But Jesus (ereo) spoke (peri) concerning (autos) his (thanatos) death:

(de) And (ekeinos) they, his disciples, (dokeo) were of the thought and opinion (hoti) that (lego) he had spoken (peri) about (koimesis) him reclining to rest (hupnos) in order to sleep.

14) (tote) Then at that time, (oun) with this being so, Jesus (epo) said (parrhesia) frankly and without concealment:

Lazarus (apothnesko) is dead.

15) (kai) And (emen) assuredly, (chairo) I am glad (dia) on this account (humas) for you, (hoti) that (en) I was (ou) not (ekei) there in that place, (hina) so that (pisteuo) you will believe;

(alla) But (ago) let us go (pros) to (autos) him.

16) (oun) Therefore Thomas, (ho) that (lego) is surnamed  Didymus, (epo) said (summathetes) to his fellow disciples:

(ago) Let us go (kai) also, (hina) so that (hemeis) we (apothnesko) will die (meta) with (autos) him (Jesus, in reference to the Jews in that place)

17) (oun) With these things being so, Jesus (erchomai) arrived (heurisko) to learn that (autos) Lazarus (echo) was in such a condition (en) in (mnemeion) the tomb (tessares) for four (hemera) days (ede) already.

18) (de) And Bethany (en) was (eggus) near to Jerusalem, (hos) about (dekapente) fifteen (stadion) race courses away (apo) from Jerusalem:

  • A race course is a space or distance of about 600 feet (185 m)

19) (kai) And (polus) many (ek) out of the Jews (erchomai) arrived and came (pros) to Martha (kai) and Mary, (peri) (hina) in order to (paramutheomai) (autos) speak with them and to calm, encourage and console them (peri) concerning (autos) their (adelphos) brother.

20) (oun) With this being so, (hos) as (akouo) it was announced to Martha (hoti) that Jesus (erchomai) was coming to make his appearance, (hupantao) she went to meet with (autos) him:

(de) But Mary (kathezomai) sat down still (en) in (oikos) the house.

21) (oun) Then, Martha (epo) said (pros) to Jesus:

(kurios) Lord, (ei) if (en) you were (hode) here to this place, (an) then (mou) my (adelphos) brother (ou) would not (thnesko) be dead.

22) (alla) But (eido) I know and understand, (kai) even  (nun) now at this very moment, (hoti) that (hosos) (an) what things so ever (aiteo) you ask (theos) of God, (theos) God (didomi) will give it (soi) to you.

23) So Jesus (lego) said (autos) to her:

(sou) Your (adelphos) brother (anistemi) will rise from the dead.

24) And then Martha (lego) said (autos) to him:

(eido) I know and understand (hoti) that (anistemi) he will rise up from the dead (en) by (anastasis) the resurrection (en) at (eschatos) the last (hemera) day.

25) Jesus (epo) said (autos) to her:

(ego) I (eimi) am (anastasis) the resurrection, (kai) and (zoe) life, the absolute fullness of life which belongs to God, life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous and devoted to God:

(pisteuo) He that puts his confidence in me and believes (en) in (eme) me, (kan) even if (apothnesko) he is dead, (zao) he will live and enjoy real life:

26)  (kai) And (pas) all (zao) who lives and enjoys real life (kai) and (pisteuo) puts his confidence in me and believes (eis) in (eme) me, (ou me) will never, certainly not, not at all and by no means (eis) for (aion) eternity (apothnesko) die.

(pisteuo) Do you believe (touto) this saying?

27) (lego) She said (autos) to him:

(nai) Yea, truly (kurios) Lord:

(ego) I (pisteuo) believe (hoti) that (su) you (ei) are (Christos) Christ the anointed Messiah, (huios) the Son (theos) of God, (ho) that (erchomai) has appeared before the public (eis) into (kosmos) the world.

28) (kai) And (epo) when she has spoken (tauta) these (apo) words, (aperchomai) she departed (kai) and (phoneo) (lathra) (autos) went to speak secretly with her (adelphe) sister Mary (epo) saying:

(didaskalos) The TEACHER (pareimi) has arrived (kai) and (phoneo) sends for (se) you.

29) (hos) As (ekeinos) she (akouo) considered what her sister was saying, (egeiro) she rose up (tachu) quickly and without delay, (kai) and (erchomai) went (pros) to (autos) him.

30) (de) And Jesus (oupo) was not yet (erchomai) come (eis) into (kome) town, (alla) but (en) was (en) still in (topos) the place (hopou) where Martha (hupantao) went to meet (autos) him.

31) (oun) With this being so, the Jews (ho) that (on) were (meta) with (autos) her (en) in (oikia) the house (kai) and (paramutheomai) comforted (autos) her, (eido) turned their eyes at this and paid attention to Mary, (hoti) because (anistemi) she rose up (tachu) quickly and without delay;

(kai) And (exerchomai) they also departed (akoloutheo) in order to follow (autos) her, (lego) saying among themselves (hoti) that (hupago) she withdrew herself to go (eis) to (mnemeion) the tomb (hina) in order to (klaio) mourn (ekei) there in that place.

32) (oun) Then (hos) as Mary (erchomai) arrived (hopou) where Jesus (en) was at, (eido) she looked upon (autos) him, (pipto) then fell down (eis) at (autos) his (pous) feet (lego) and said (autos) to him:

(kurios) Lord, (ei) if (en) you were (hode) here in this place, (mou) my (adelphos) brother (an) would (ou) not (apothnesko) have died.

33) (hos) As Jesus (oun) therefore (eido) noticed (autos) her (klaio) crying, (kai) and the Jews (klaio) also crying (sunerchomai) that came with (autos) her, (embrimaomai) he mourned (pneuma) in the spirit (kai) and (tarasso) was disturbed and troubled (heautou) himself.

34) (kai) And (epo) said:

(pou) Where about (tithemi) have you laid (autos) him?

(lego) They said (autos) to him, (kurios) Lord, (erchomai) come (kai) and (eido) see.

35) And Jesus (dakruo) shed tears.

36) (oun) With this being so, the Jews (lego) said:

(ide) Behold and witness with your eyes (pos) how (phileo) he shows his love for (autos) him.

37) (de) And (tis) some (ek) out of (autos) them (epo) said:

(ou) Is not (houto) this man, (ho) that (poieo) performed (anoigo) the opening (ophthalmos) of the eyes (tuphlos) of the physically blind / mentally blind, (dunamai) able, capable, strong and powerful enough, (hina) that (kai) even (anthropos) this man (me) would not of (apothnesko) died?

38) (oun) Therefore, Jesus (palin) again (embrimaomai) mourned (en) within (heautou) himself (erchomai) until they arrived (eis) at (mnemeion) the tomb.

(de) And (en) the tomb was (spelaion) a cave, a den (kai) and (lithos) a stone (epikeimai) was placed (epi) against (autos) it.

39) Then Jesus (lego) said:

(airo) Remove (lithos) the stone.

Martha, (adelphe) the sister (thnesko) of him that was dead, (lego) said (autos) to him:

(kurios) Lord, (ede) by now (ozo) he emits the smell of a decaying corpse:

(gar) For (esti) he has been dead (tetartaios) four days.

40) Jesus (lego) said (autos) to her:

(ou) Did I not (epo) say (soi) to you, (hoti) that (ean) if (pisteuo) you believe, (optanomai) you will look at (doxa) the glory (theos) of God?

41) (oun) Therefore (airo) they removed (lithos) the stone (hou) from where (thnesko) the dead (en) was (keimai) laid down and buried.

(kai) And Jesus (airo) lifted (ano) up (ophthalmos) his eyes (kai) and (epo) said:

(pater) Father, (eucharisteo) I am grateful and give thanks (soi) to you, (hoti) because (akouo) you have heard (mou) me.

42) (de) And (ego) I (eido) know (hoti) that (pantote) you at all times (akouo) hear (mou) me:

(alla) But (dia) on the account of (ochlos) these people (ho) that (periistemi) stand around me (epo) is why I said it, (hina) so that (pisteuo) they will believe (hoti) that (su) you (apostello) have sent (me) me.

43) (kai) And (epo) after he spoke (tauta) this, (kraugazo) he cried out (megas) with a great (phone) voice:

Lazarus, (deuro) come here! (exo) Out of the tomb.

44) (kai) And (thnesko) the dead (exerchomai) came out of the tomb, (deo) bound (cheir) hands (kai) and (pous) feet (keiria) with the strips of cloth that are used for completely wrapping up a corpse,  (kai) and (perideo) tied over (autos) his (opsis) face (soudarion) was a handkerchief.

And Jesus (lego) said (autos) to them:

(luo) Unbind (autos) him, (kai) and (aphiemi) let him go (hupago) so that he can depart from this place.

45) (oun) With this being so, (polus) many (ek) out of the Jews (ho) that (erchomai) arrived (pros) with Mary (kai) and (theaomai) attentively viewed (hos) what Jesus (poieo) performed, (pisteuo) believed (eis) on (autos) him.

46) (de) But (tis) some (ek) out of (autos) them (aperchomai) departed to go (pros) to the Pharisees, (kai) and (epo) told (autos) them (hos) what Jesus (poieo) performed.

47) (oun) Therefore (sunago) they assembled together (archiereus) the chief priest, high priests (kai) and the Pharisees (sunedrion) in a council convened to deliberate, (kai) and (lego) said:

(tis) What (poieo) are we going to do?

(hoti) Because (houtos) this (anthropos) man (poieo) performs (polus) many (semeion) wonders and miracles.

48) (ean) If (aphiemi) we do not hinder (autos) him (kai) and (houto) in this manner,  (aphiemi) we leave him alone, (pas) everyone (pisteuo) will believe (eis) on (autos) him:

(kai) Indeed the Romans (erchomai) will come here (kai) and (airo) remove us by force, (kai) even (hemon) our (topos) place of power (kai) and (ethos) our nation.

49) (kai) And (tis) a certain (heis) one (ek) out of (autos) them named Caiaphas, (on) which was (archiereus) the High Priest (ekeinos) that (eniautos) year, (epo) said (autos) to them:

(humeis) You (ou) do not (eido) know or understand (oudeis) anything.

  • Caiaphas was a high priest of the Jews appointed to that office by Valerius Gratus, governor of Judaea, after the removal of Simon, son of Camith, A.D. 18, and was removed A.D. 36 by Vitellius, governor of Syria, who appointed Jonathan, son of Ananus, the father-in-law of Caiaphas, his successor.

50) (oude) Neither do you (dialogizamai) bring together to reason in your minds and contribute in order to help with (hoti) that (sumphero) which is profitable and expedient (hemin) for us;

(hina) That (heis) one (anthropos) man (apothnesko) should die (huper) for the sake of (laos) the people of this nation, (kai) and (holos) that the whole (ethnos) nation (me) does not (apollumi) perish or be lost, ruined and destroyed.

51) (de) And (touto) this thing (epo) he spoke (ou) not (ek) out of (heautou) himself:

(alla) But (on) being (archiereus) the High Priest (ekeinos) that (eniautos) year, (propheteuo) he declared this thing to be known by divine revelation that he prophesied (hoti) that Jesus (mello) was on the point of (apothnesko) dying (huper) for the sake of (ethnos) the nation.

52) (kai) And (ou) not (huper) in behalf of (ethnos) this nation (monon) only, (alla) but (kai) also (hina) in order to (sunago) gather together (eis) into (heis) one (teknon) the children (offspring) (theos) of God (diaskorpizo) that were scattered abroad, to gather the wheat that was freed from the chaff into the granary.

53) (oun) With this being so, (apo) from (ekeinos) that (hemera) day forward, (sumbouleuo) they took counsel together (hina) in order to (apokteino) (autos) kill him in any way whatsoever.

54) (oun) Therefore Jesus (ouketi) no longer (peripateo) made his way, regulated his life or conducted him self (parrhesia) openly (en) with the Jews;

(alla) But (aperchomai) he departed (ekeithen) from that place (eis) into (chora) a region (eggus) near (eremos) the wilderness,

  • A region is an area with towns and villages that surround a metropolis, the land which is ploughed or cultivated.

And entered (eis) into (polis) a city (lego) called Ephraim (meaning “double fruitfulness”) (kakei) and there (diatribo) he spent time (meta) with (autos) his (mathetes) disciples

  • A city about a short day's journey from Jerusalem.

55) (de) And the Jews (pascha) paschal feast, the feast of the Passover, (en) was (eggus) near, extending from the 14th to the 20th day of the month Nisan, the first month of their year.

(kai) And (polus) many (anabaino) went (ek) out of (chora) that region (eis) into Jerusalem, (pro) before (pascha) the paschal sacrifice, (hina) in order to (hagnizo) to ceremonially purify and cleanse (heautou) themselves.

  • The paschal sacrifice was accustomed to be offered for the people's deliverance of old from Egypt. The paschal lamb the Israelites were accustomed to slay and eat on the fourteenth day of the month of Nisan, the first month of their year, in memory of the day on which their fathers, preparing to depart from Egypt, were bidden by God to slay and eat a lamb, and to sprinkle their door posts with its blood, that the destroying angel, seeing the blood, might pass over their dwellings; Christ crucified is likened to the slain paschal lamb.

56) (oun) With this being so, (zeteo) they sought after Jesus , (kai) and (lego) spoke (meta) among (allelon) one another mutually, (histemi) as they stood (en) in (hieron) the temple at Jerusalem;

(tis) What (humin) is your (dokeo) opinion?

(hoti) That (ou me) he will not (erchomai) make his appearance (eis) for (heorte) the feast and festival?

57) (de) And (archiereus) the Chief Priest, high priests (kai) and the Pharisees (kai) also (didomi) commissioned (entole) an order, (hina) that (ean) if (tis) any one (ginosko) has knowledge of or comes to know (pou) where about (esti) he is, (menuo) that they should make it known and inform them, (hopos) so that (piazo) they can lay a hold of him and capture (autos) him.

We do always give our thanks to God the Father for all things in the heaven above and the earth down below, for both his grace that he has shown to us in the first of this generation and for patiently waiting for the fruits of the earth in the last of this generation, for manifesting his words in the flesh in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the sower of the divine seed of God in the first of this generation and for the hope of his promise that he would raise the reaper from among the spiritually dead in the last of this generation. Thank you God for your word, for only your word is the truth, which was, which is and which is soon to come the Almighty, so be it, let it be so, may it be fulfilled. In the name of God the Father that he manifested and gave to Lord Jesus Christ, in the name JESUS do we pray always...Amen.
